Annie & the Hedonists, Free Concert at Guilderland Public Library
Sunday, March 11, 2 pm

"The sultry, blues-tinged singing of Annie Rosen and tight group harmonies are framed by a variety of knockout lead instruments including guitar, mandolin, trumpet, keyboards and dobro on an eclectic mix of blues, jazz, swing, folk, and country."

So says Metroland about this Capital District favorite. Annie & the Hedonists will be appearing free at the Guilderland Public Library on Sunday, March 11, at 2 pm, as part of the Library's Second Sunday Concert Series.

Two couples in perfect harmony, Annie and Jonny Rosen (lead vocals and guitar) and Betsy and Steven Fry (bass and guitar, mandolin, keyboards and trumpet), will apply their tight harmonies to cover a wide-ranging blend of bluegrass, gospel, and acoustic folk, and throw in a couple of torchy blues numbers and even a ballad or two. The group will be joined by a special guest, fiddler Frank Orsini, who has a popular following all his own.

The reviewers are unanimous in their praise for the group: “Uncommon joy-de-vivre … their music swings with a wink. Even their name telegraphs a saucy attitude.” – Don Wilcock, The Troy Record. “...their sound is pulled into a cohesive whole by arrangements and interpretations that are distinctly Annie & the Hedonists.” – Phil Schwartz, Schenectady Daily Gazette

Come to the Guilderland Library on Sunday, March 11. And escape from the winter blues into the warm embrace of acoustic blues.

Annie Rosen, left, Betsy Fry, Jonny Rosen, and Steve Fry are Annie & the Hedonists. They will perform a free concert at the Guilderland Library on Sunday, March 11, at 2 pm.
