Robert Burns – the Man, the Myth, the Music
October 2 at 2 pm, the musical duo known as Castlebay (Fred Gosbee and Julia Lane) presented a special program of poems, love songs, dance tunes, and anecdotes about Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, who wrote such masterpieces of poetry and song as Auld Lang Syne and My Love is Like a Red Red Rose. Musicians Gosbee and Lane sing vocals and play a variety of instruments including Celtic harp, guitar, fiddle, and woodwinds. Castlebay performs throughout the Northeast in addition to annual tours of the British Isles. In collaboration with Scottish musicians they have toured Scotland, performing original and traditional compositions. Join us for this very special performance! The Art$ Grant program is funded through the State and Local Partnership Program of the New York State Council on the Arts and the Arts Center of the Capital Region. |
